Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup milk

Preparation Steps

  • Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • Beat egg & milk together.
  • Add liquid to dry ingredients and mix just until moistened.
  • Drop dumplings onto the top of your hot, simmering soup one large tablespoon at a time.
  • Make sure the soup is turned down to a low simmer and put the lid on.
  • Check back in about 20 minutes and they should be puffed up and cooked through.

Notes

Dumplings will puff up while cooking, so don't worry if they look small when dropped into the soup.
